  • Does my External Customer Database need first names and last names or can I get by with just an email address?
    You can indeed just use email addresses in your External Customer database. However, there are two things that you should keep in mind if you do this. The first is that when importing new subscribers, you'll need to ensure that each line being imported looks like the following: 
    ,,name@domain.com
    This is the equivalent of adding in a blank first and last name along with each email adress. The other thing to keep in mind is that you will want to refrain from using the [!Customer.FirstName!] or [!Customer.LastName!] insert fields in your campaigns that draw against the External Customer audience.
