Did you know that you can take your
username@domain.com (where domain.com is your domain name) and add +somekeyword to the username so that your email would become
username+somekeyword@domain.com that you can use for one off, tracking or specialty email addresses?
I often use this format for emails so that when I give out my email on websites so I can track who is using, and more importantly, abusing my email address. This way if I get spam to an address I gave to a particular website, I can source back to who is selling my personal information.
If you couple this with Gmail's filters, you end up with a truly powerful tool. Say you subscribe to a particular newsletter that you don't read every day but you still want to have handy. Well, create a filter for the +keyword that you've added to your address and have the messages labelled and stored outside your inbox for later perusal. This also can be used to track label messages that belong to specific projects or family members or whatever!
Give it a shot, you just might be glad you did!
